ERIKA’S SPECIAL DAY

I was so excited to be a part of Erika and Jason’s wedding day, and even more excited when I met with her a few weeks before  to see how they transformed their backyard for the wedding.  So on the morning of, I panicked a little because it was raining.  They say rain is a sign of good luck on your wedding day, but I just didn’t want all of their hard work to go to waste.  Luckily when I arrived the rain was holding off and Erika was as calm, and pretty, as could be.  Everything worked out, and right after the ceremony a huge storm came through and I was trapped in their garage in fear of being pelted with dime size hail.  It was definitely something I won’t forget, and we all had a good laugh about it.  Congrats Erika and Jason!

Here is just a few of the pictures:

The last picture is Erika and her stepdaughter.  I am a stepmom, so I tend to get emotional when I see a strong bond between a stepparent and child.  Such a great sight to see!

Saydee and Skylar

It’s hard to describe, in words, how cute these two kiddos are, so here is the proof!   These two belong to one of my longest and greatest friends, Amy!

It’s so hard for me to believe that Skylar is this old!  AHH!  Seems like I was just holding him on his first Halloween.

Everything in life I share, except my teddy bear!

Stella wanted to bring along her pink teddy bear.  I am not sure Kacie was super thrilled about it, but I thought a few quick snapshots wouldn’t hurt anything.  Teddy had just came out of the wash too, so she was super clean for her photos.

Kacie and Stella’s posts are all wrapped up now, butI want to say a few kind words about these two lovely ladies.  Kacie is a super awesome mom.  She raises Stella on her own, and has done a swell job the last three years.  Kacie works full time as a special education teacher, and is going back to school.  How she balances all of this out, and still makes time to be a great mom, is beyond me.  I am proud to say she is my best friend, and I know that she would do absolutely anything if I were in need.  Oh and Stella…she is just one of the cutest little girls you’ll ever meet.  Polite, prissy, and everything you want in a sweet little girl.

HAPPY EARLY MOTHER’S DAY KAC!  YOU DESERVE AN EXTRA SPECIAL DAY!  LUVVIES!

I FORSEE AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE

Took some super sweet pictures of Kacie and Stella this past week.  I am arranging for Stella and Q to wed in 20-something years.  I am sure Kacie will stick us with a hefty dowry…better start saving now!

My Best Friend is Prettier than Yours

kacie3

Just wanted to share a new photo that I took of one of  my best friends, Kacie.  I wanted her to have a new Facebook pic, so I insisted that we take a headshot at her and Stella’s last portrait session.  :)  I could go on and on about how much I love her, but we’ll save that for the next post.

Senior sessions are winding down now...I had a blast taking all of them! Each session brought on a new experience for me, and I am so happy for the opportunity! I just want to wish all of you good luck and congratulations on ending one chapter and beginning a whole new chapter in your life! Hope you all keep in touch (Michah, if you're reading this..you're stuck with me forever. ha!).

A Wish For Sunshine

Wow! Wasn't today such a beautiful sunshiny day? Well I hate to complain, but it was one day too late for me! I had three senior sessions scheduled for yesterday, and with our unpredictable climate we live in we had to reschedule all three. I was really anxious to get outside and snap some pictures, so when Brooklynn told me she wanted a new Facebook picture we jumped in the car and drove just a short way down the road. (Safey first! With my driving skills you never can be too careful!) I think Brooklynn thought the idea of going out in the snow and playing would be so much fun, but from start to finish we were outside for about 30 minutes...including the driving time. The two of us together in the 35 degree weather was pretty comical. Above are just two of my favorites.

All Growed Up!

This was a special shoot for me because I took my baby sister's senior portraits! Ahh! Doesn't seem possible that she is ready to graduate. I am so proud of Michah for the young woman she has become. She is smart, sassy, and an overall great person. I can't wait to see what her future has in store for her. (although I really wish she would be our nanny while she is going to school...but she keeps shooting me down)

I am just going to post a few of my favorites because she hasn't seen all of them yet. :) Plus, I took a bunch...like too many to narrow down. :)

Isn't her red hair just to die for?

Kristina's Senior Pics

So I thought I would do better and try to post at least every other day, but that's not going to happen. Between all of Brooklynn's activities and Eric's new business I haven't had much time to do anything. I wanted to go ahead and post some pics of Kristina's pictures because I forgot to when I took them back in, like, October. Shame on me!

Kristina is a great family friend, and I was happy to take some portraits for her. The last few years I have photographed both of her older sisters' senior pictures, and she is the baby. It has been really fun, as they all have different personalities!

It's been a while....

Well, I have been absolutely horrible with keeping up with my blog! In the next few weeks I'll put some of the photos that I've taken in the last few months, and try to update you on my life a little. I need to get my act together! haha!

Today I just want to share a picture that was taken a few years back, but it was actually a Christmas gift this year that I gave my stepdad. Nothing too fancy, but it's the sentimental value with this one. :)

My stepdad, Steven, is super cool. He's a kid at heart, so much in fact that my mom nicknamed him Peter Pan years ago. There's something so magical about him through a child's eye...and although I am not a child anymore I still see it.

For Quenton's third birthday my stepdad dressed up like Batman (bought the suit and made a REAL bat mobile- not lying). The excitement that Quenton felt that day, will always be so special to us. To this day, Quenton still calls him "Papa Batman" and really thinks he's the real deal. So, I made the above picture a poster for Steven, because you can't ever duplicate a moment like this one. :)
