Kresleigh goes Broadway

Sneak peek! This isn't the final, they have to do some corrections

I have exciting news!! Recently I took pictures for Kresleigh to use for her upcoming c.d.! We had so much fun taking these pics, and she is such a beautiful girl. Speaking of how beautiful she is, you have to hear a little story about how this c.d. came about.

Kresleigh decided to record this c.d. so that 50% of the proceeds would help benefit A Day for Shay and Pals, an organization that helps autistic children seek the therapy that they need. While taking her photos Cristal (Kresleigh's mom and good friend of ours) educated me a little, and told me that the medical needs/therapy that autistic children require are not paid for by insurance. A lot of parents of autistic children give up so much to care for them, so much in fact, that many of them even give up their homes.

As a mother of two healthy children I know that we are very fortunate. I am pained that some parents have to choose to give up their home, or do without medical treatment. So, I have so much admiration for Kresleigh, and that at such a young age she understands how important this is.
The official release date should be within a few weeks, so please get ahold of me on how to order one. As soon as I get more details I will be sure to post them! :)

New Look

Just wanted to switch some stuff around on my blog. My creative juices were full force tonight and I got this big idea to change the header. Don't ask me where the design came from....I fired up my photoshop and got busy. I am not sure anyone really follows me, but let me know if you like it. :) I'll be back soon with LOTS of pics. I have been slacking....don't hate.

P.S. If anyone could please tell me how to make those little circles, easier in Photoshop, I would highly appreciate it. I made each one of those stupid things with the elliptical tool. I was a bit frustrated.

Brook's Nine Year Pics

This picture reminds me of "My So Called Life"

Cute as always!

Walking carefully!

The area on the other side of this fence made Brooklynn say, "That looks like a place kids get kidnapped!" Stranger danger at our house. LOL!

Okay, so I might just a teenzy bit go over board with taking photos of my kids....just a little. Really, though they're my all time favorite subjects to shoot. Mainly because I can bark orders at them and not feel bad about it. LOL!

Brooklynn and I had the best time taking these photos. I tried to let her personality shine and let her do her own thing. I think they turned out quite well. She might shoot me when she gets older for letting her where the outfit, but she picked it out. :)

Ben and Nilza's Wedding

It's been a while ago, but I took some pics of Ben and Nilza's wedding day. Nilza contacted me WAY in advance to take pictures for her, b/c she liked my style. Ben and I worked at Club Video a few years back...I won't give the exact amount of years ago b/c it makes me sound a little old. haha! They are such a cute couple and you can tell how much they REALLY love each other-made taking their photos super easy!! Thanks for choosing me guys, I had a blast on your wedding day!

Diane's Kiddos

I had a fun time taking pics of Diane's kids. Her daughter and Quenton were in the same pre-school class last year. They are such sweet children and listen to direction quite well! They were naturals and so beautiful!

Toby's Kiddos

Toby and I go way back to the Miss Sherry's Dance days, so when she asked me to take pics of her little ones I was more than happy to! Meet the Moore kids! Her oldest is the "motherly" type, her middle one is so funny and crazy (just like Q), and the baby is the sweetest little thing ever! When you mix all the personalities together you get one fun photo shoot!! I had a great time, and can't wait to take more pictures of this fam!

Funkadelic Disco Party

I can't believe it, but Brooklynn had her ninth birthday party this past weekend. It just doesn't seem possible, that she is already NINE! AHHH!! We celebrated with a disco skating party and it was totally groovy! She had a great turnout of friends, that showed up dressed and ready to disco. I rarely saw her without a huge smile on her face, and that made it all worth it to me. I just love her too death!

If you're reading this, and you came to the party let me know and I will send you the link to download her party pics. I took a bunch of individual pics, of course. :)

Quenton is 4!

Recently I took some 4 year photos of Quenton. I just love that when people ask him how old he is he states, "I'm fur"! Eric and I get complimented all the time on how sweet and cute he is. While motherhood is sometimes trying, I really do love everything about both of them. So, here is a few pics to view of him in his "work" shirt. :)

RECYCLED CHUNCKY CRAYONS

All sorted out, just how Brookie wanted them.

Glimpse of when they were in the oven.

Finished product....

Tonight Brookie and I decided we wanted to do an art project. After cleaning up their playroom, I found an abundance of broken crayons. Normally I would just throw them out and go buy another box of 35 cents Crayolas, but I decided to melt the old ones down and reuse them.
Brooklynn and I picked all the pieces of paper off those dang crayons and stuck them neatly in muffin pans sprayed with PAM. After you get them all divided up how you want them, you stick them in the oven, set at 275 degrees. They were melted after 10 minutes, and then you just let them cool. It took about 15 minutes for them to cool and we took a toothpick and edged around each one. They came out of the muffin pan quite nicely.
From the pictures that I am posting, you can see that they're perfect size for small children. You can't get real detailed with your coloring when using the chunky crayon, but they're still fun! I think next time we'll experiment with mixing different colors together.

It's a bird. It's a plane....

It's Quenton's Superman birthday party! Yesterday was a great day to have a 4th birthday party. I had just the right amount of people there, and had so much help. It was a breeze.

Quenton was so happy with the presents that he received! He wanted more than anything a Star Wars Clone Wars gun, that we saw at Wal-Mart last week when picking up our nephew's birthday present. He played with it all night in his dress up costumes that he also got. We had to listen to his ipod on our way home last night, and he loved every single song that Grannie picked and downloaded for him. Overall, he made out like a bandit. Too many things to list, and now I get to find spots for them all. :)

Tonight Eric and I are going to give him his BIG present. I thought we should save one gift and give it to him on his actual birthday. Eric was super excited to go pick out his very first basketball goal. I was excited about the Radio Flyer scooter that I picked out for him. Sometimes, I wonder who is more excited about the presents, the kids or the parents? At least now Eric won't have to be hit in the face with the basketball anymore-Quenton makes him hold his arms out like a hoop, and he misses quite a bit!

I just can't believe that four years ago, I was giving birth to a beautiful, eight pound baby boy. I am so grateful for this gift that I have been given! My family means so much to me, and has really made me a better person. I look forward to many more birthdays with this little guy. * I am still in denial, that he isn't a baby.

CUTE LITTLE FAMILY

When one of my old friends from childhood contacted me to photograph her family, I was shocked and happy that we could reconnect. Our moms had been friends years back and we had taken dance classes together at a young age. We lived in different towns and lost contact over the years. Kasey is now married and has a cute little girl, Dakota. I have to say that it was so easy taking pictures of the adorable little gal. She never quit smiling and you could tell that she is one of the happiest babies I have ever met. It was pleasure to take their pictures, and I am so flattered they asked me to document this time in their lives.

MAYBE I'M NOT VAMPIRE MATERIAL

After the whole wisdom teeth extraction I've determined that I am not cut out to be a vampire. The taste of blood keeps haunting me. It makes me ill to think about how much of my blood I consumed in the past two days. Now I know if Edward comes knocking at my door I can decline any offers he has, no matter how good looking he may be.

On a side note I have some pictures to post! I will have them up soon!

AN ACHING TOOTH IS BETTER OUT THAN IN

So tomorrow is the day that I have been dreading for a while now. It's time to get on with my life with one less problem. I am getting a wisdom tooth out, and will have to go back and get the other one removed at a later date. I prolonged it as long as I could, but can wait no longer.

Oh and get this. I am not getting knocked out. I am just getting a local anesthetic in the dental office and they are going to pull it, and stich it up afterwards. Sounds fun, uhn? Nitrous is going to be my best friend-I hope...I heard it makes you clumsy, or in my sense clumsier.

Soul Mates?

A more recent photo

An oldie, but goodie

If you have watched the episode of Sex and the City where Charlotte proposes that the group of them are soul mates, then you know what I am getting at in this post. I understand that soul mates usually indicates a love so strong between a man and a woman, but I think friends can be soul mates too! I have a bunch of friends that I cherish and am so happy that each and every one of them are in my life, but I have two friends that monopolize the meaning of friendship.

Our friendship has outlast relationships, living arrangements, turmoil, and just the everyday aspects of life. We all three have completely opposite personalities, but when they come together we unite perfectly! Amanda is the funny one, Kacie is the responsible one, and I am just the quirky one in the middle.

A little history behind the three of us begins with Amanda and me. Amanda and I took dance from Sherry's Dance Center when we were toddlers. We really became friends later in elementary school and from then on we have stuck together. Kacie moved to Neosho from Camdenton when we were in junior high school. Now if anyone has moved to a new school, then you know junior high can be a brutal time to make friends. We had mutual friends, but didn't have the quality of friendship that we have now. Later in high school we started hanging out more and the rest is history.

Right now Amanda has been coming "home" more often, since she has summers off work, and we are having a blast. I have a bunch of tagged photos on Facebook of our fun nights we have been having together. You take for granted the time you have with one another, until suddenly you realize it's time to grow up. I am proposing that we are soul mates, just as Charlotte did. We can be apart, for what seems like forever, but when we meet up again the connection is always there. I love you guys.

FROG-NAPPED

My children came home from a visit with Nana LaLa with a surprise for Mommy. The kids were so excited to show me the tiny, cute little frog cramped in the corner of their old plastic ice cream pail. My heart instantly ached for the poor little critter, that my kids had manhandled for probably the majority of the day. I looked at Nana Lala and asked her if she thought that was a good idea, and she just shook her head and said, "I am the Nana, not the Mom." Is she serious? I was raised with a step-dad that couldn't even kill a mouse, and I was always yelling at other kids not to pick the light off of lightning bugs, because it killed them! So, now I have "Froggy" sitting here looking at me, begging to be set free-but honestly I don't have the energy to deal with the tears and rage that my kids are going to unleash on me, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. On the bright side, we are going to the creek tomorrow and I think it's fitting that we set "Froggy" free there. Wish me luck.

The picture I attached is proof that this is a sad situation....he wants the heck out of there.
